Here you see the roofed court and the corner tower which we visited along with the connecting colonnade. In the foreground is a test region in which plants which were grown in Roman times have been planted. In our area, the main grain crop was Spelt (Triticum spelta). Lentils (Lens culinaris) were also widely used. Flax (Linum usitatissimum) was mainly used for Linseed oil and in medicine. The stalks were processed into Linen. Thyme (Thymus), Dill (Anethum graveolens), Lovage (Levisticum officinalis), Garlic (Allium sativum), Sage (Salvia) and others served as spices and as pharmaceuticals.
